helping homeless animals to health and safety through funding, fostering, and transporting.
Born April 4th, 2026
Mercury welcomed six beautiful kittens on April 4th, 2026.
Just days before, she was a homeless stray. If you’re able, please consider donating food or supplies to help support her and cats just like her that The Ruffugees Foundation and its volunteers are caring for. Every bit truly makes a difference.
You can find everything they need on our Chewy Wish List or Amazon Wish Lists. Thank you for helping Mercury and her kittens get the safe start they deserve.

What is TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a humane method of controlling community cat populations by safely trapping stray and feral cats, having them spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returning them to their familiar outdoor environment. This process prevents unwanted litters, reduces behaviors such as fighting, spraying, and roaming, and helps improve the cats’ overall health and well-being. Over time, TNR reduces the number of homeless cats in our communities, eases the burden on animal shelters, and prevents countless kittens from being born into unsafe conditions.

about us
The Ruffugees Foundation is a volunteer-run, federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2017.
Our mission is to help homeless animals reach health and safety through funding, fostering, and transportation. We work directly with shelters, rescues, and community caregivers to give vulnerable animals the care and opportunities they need to survive and thrive.
Across the United States, millions of animals face homelessness, illness, hunger, and overcrowded shelters. We believe every animal deserves compassion, medical care, and the chance for a safe home.
The Ruffugees Foundation supports this mission by funding critical medical services, providing food and supplies, supporting trap-spay-neuter (TNR) efforts to reduce overpopulation, and helping transport animals to foster homes and adoptive families. Through these efforts, we help rescue animals from unsafe situations and guide them toward recovery and permanent homes.
As a volunteer-run organization, every donation goes directly toward helping animals in need. Your support allows us to provide lifesaving care, nourishment, and safe placement for homeless animals.
Join us in giving them the second chance they deserve.
